Supercharge video streaming - No expensive GPUs required
vCAST Streaming delivers direct streaming of content to our endpoint devices, reducing the overall server-side CPU usage for web videos like YouTube and Vimeo, and local media content without the need for expensive GPUs. By conserving server-side hardware resources and bandwidth, more concurrent user sessions can run while ensuring the same high quality HD video experience.
While vCAST Streaming is native to vSpace Pro Enterprise, the features can be enabled on Microsoft RDS deployments by installing our SuperRDP server pack, available through your NComputing reseller (SKU: SuperRDP-PREM-VC-P).
Microsoft Teams Optimization
Available on RX420(RDP) and RX440(RDP) thin clients, audio and video streams in Microsoft Teams are offloaded from the Microsoft AVD, Windows 365, and RDS sessions, enabling them to be processed locally on the client device. Deliver clear, crisp high-definition audio-video conferencing via our Microsoft Teams optimization. Users can seamlessly participate in audio-video or audio-only calls to and from other users and other standards-based desktop video and conference room systems. (requires firmware 4.9.100 or higher)
INTEGRATED LOCAL CHROMIUM BROWSER SUPPORT
RX420(RDP)'s integrated local Chromium browser provides additional flexibility for direct access of web content and web apps without desktop virtualization.
The integrated Chromium browser can be configured for stand-alone kiosk mode, or productivity mode where the user can use the local browser side-by-side with their virtualized apps/desktops envrionment.
BROAD USB PERIPHERAL SUPPORT
With integrated transparent USB redirection, RX420(RDP) utilizes device drivers from the server side to provide extensive peripheral support including mass storage, smart card readers, audio devices, printers, imaging devices (e.g., webcams), serial devices, HID and custom devices (identified by Vendor ID and Product ID).

The only difference between these devices is RAM. RX420 has 2GB of RAM and is sufficient for normal operation. RX440 has 4GB of RAM, and is recommended for use cases that rely heavily on the local Chromium browser with multiple open tabs.
For virtualization, 2GB of RAM is plenty and is the standard amount in all of the RX-420 devices. In certain circumstances, more RAM can be advantageous, specifically if your use case requires heavy use of the local Chromium browser. An example of this would be keeping many browser tabs open at once, playing multimedia content, or accessing the web version of Microsoft Teams for video calls. For these cases we have the RX-440 devices. These devices are identical to RX-420 except for the inclusion of 4GB of RAM. These devices are available for direct order only. For more information, please contact your NComputing representative.

The warranty for the RX420(RDP) is one year from the time of registration in the NComputing Management Portal. An optional extended hardware warranty is available and can be purchased through an NComputing reseller or via the NComputing Management Portal with a credit card or PayPal.
The extended warranty is only eligible for RX420(RDP) devices that are already under warranty and must be applied to a specific device. Once the extended warranty has been allocated to a device, it cannot be changed/removed.
Admins can log in to the NComputing Management Portal --> My Devices and click the ‘Serial No.’ of the device for the details. Automated email reminders will be sent approximately 30 days prior to the current device warranty expiration date.
Each RX420(RDP) device comes with a 1-year subscription to AMP for RX420(RDP). This allows the device to receive firmware updates applied locally or pushed from NComputing PMC Endpoint Management Software. When AMP for RX420(RDP) expires the device can no longer receive firmware updates. Subscription to AMP for RX420(RDP) must be purchased and applied to the device in order to once again be able to push firmware updates from PMC.
An active AMP license must be maintained to receive the described benefits. Renewing an expired AMP license is applied retroactively to the date that the previous license expired.
AMP for RX420(RDP) is a software maintenance and support program provided by NComputing to allow RX420(RDP) devices to receive the latest firmware updates. Each device must have its own current AMP for RX420(RDP) license to continue to receive firmware updates.
There are multiple benefits that come with registering the RX420(RDP) device with the NComputing Management Portal:
The 1-year warranty is counted from the date of registration. If not registered, then the 1-year warranty is counted from the device manufacture date
Registration automatically enables management using the NComputing PMC Device Management Software.
Extended hardware warranty and extended AMP for RX420(RDP) software maintenance can only be applied to registered devices.
Yes. RX420(RDP) requires the purchase of vSpace Pro Client connection license (vSpacePro-SW-1A) to connect to vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition. It is not compatible with vSpace Pro LTS.
No. Only the RX300 thin client can optionally boot into the Raspbian desktop mode.
RX420(RDP) firmware can be obtained from the NComputing software download page. During the first year (after registration) the firmware can be applied directly to the device (using FTP or web URL) or pushed from the NComputing PMC Device Management Software. After the first year the device can only receive firmware updated from NComputing PMC Device Management Software if the device has an active AMP for RX420(RDP) software maintenance update license.
