NComputing's management team is comprised of highly-skilled individuals with deep experience and expertise. They bring to the field a combination of technical knowledge, management experience and a commitment to helping organizations grow exponentially.
Mr. Song brings over 20 years of technology vision and entrepreneurial leadership with a focus on products that deliver life-enhancing value to education, business and consumers. He has founded and operated several start-up ventures with an inherent talent and track record for turning ideas into viable products and sustainable businesses.
Mr. Song co-founded NComputing in 2003 and successfully led the company to its early growth, which now has over 70,000 education and business customers and 20 million daily users across over 140 countries worldwide. After six years of service at NComputing in executive management positions including Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Song remained an active director of the company until his reappointment as CEO in October 2014.
Prior to rejoining NComputing, he founded and was Chief Executive Officer of Booga Ventures, an investment, advisory and mentoring firm dedicated to helping start-up companies commercialize new ideas and technologies or expand into new geographic markets. Mr. Song was also Founder and CEO of ZeroDesktop, Inc., a developer of free cloud content management tools and Web apps that enable people to gain control of their documents, emails, photos, videos, music and social content that have become scattered across multiple devices and cloud services.
Prior to co-founding NComputing in 2003, Mr. Song was also the founder and CEO of DoubleSight Displays, a company that delivered affordable and cost-effective dual displays to businesses and consumers. Mr. Song holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea and is an active volunteer for several non-profit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and lives in Palo Alto with his family.
Mr. Maier is the inventor of the multiuser architecture and concepts that are used in NComputing products. Previously the founder and CEO of Hydrapark GmbH and KaMai-Computersysteme GmbH, he teamed with Young Song to develop and launch the hardware and software solutions from NComputing to a worldwide market.
In 1998, Maier was named "The Most Innovative Entrepreneur" by a prominent German news magazine for his contributions to the PC industry, including inventing direct video-drive technology for multiuser PCs.
Pam Gosal is responsible for the company’s global human resource strategy, operations and programs, including talent acquisition as well as employee, team and organizational development and rewards.
Pam has served as an Executive Vice President of Human Resources in publicly traded companies, including Ikanos Communications and FiberTower Corp. She has developed and scaled global companies with venture backing for profitable growth, exponential growth and IPO (Leica Geosystems HDS, OneSecure/acquired by Juniper Networks and Guidewire Software). Pam has also served on several global teams driving merger and acquisitions activities. Pam began her career in Senior HR Business Partnering roles at Ernst & Young, Apple and Cisco.
Pam has a Master in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster Business School, London, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Administration from the University College of Wales, Bangor, UK.
Subir Ghosh brings over thirty years of experience in hardware, silicon, and embedded software development to NComputing. He has worked in senior leadership roles in the Personal Computing, Consumer Devices, Networking and Thin Client industries. He has held high ranking technical positions in which he has architected technologies resulting in the granting of fourteen patents that have led to significant adoption of products in the respective industries. Today Subir continues to write patents and he has over ten pending patents.
Subir joined NComputing in 2007 and has led the development and architecture of its Hardware Client Products. Prior to this, he held several leadership roles, including, roles as Chief Technical Officer for PortalPlayer, in which he was instrumental in the architecture and development of PortalPlayer’s silicon and embedded firmware solution, which provided the backbone for Apple’s hard disk based iPOD audio and video devices. Subir also cofounded NetIO Technologies in which he built the Ethernet Switch on a Chip solution for the ‘Small Office, Home Office’ market. This venture led to a successful acquisition by Davicom Semiconductors.
Subir holds a Bachelor of Technology with honors in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.
Ananth Appathurai is responsible for NComputing’s partnering and Go-To-Market strategy, and the expansion of business development and alliance efforts with strategic technology and go-to-market partners. Ananth brings 17 years of experience to NComputing, coupled with extensive technology industry experience and diverse alliance management successes.
Most recently, Ananth held leadership positions at storage virtualization, and desktop and mobile management software companies such as Atlantis Computing and AppSense, where he established top-performing, market-leading partnerships across an ecosystem of virtualization and cloud industry leaders such as Citrix, Cisco and VMware. In preceding tenures, Ananth developed and managed the Microsoft relationship for companies such as Polycom, Siemens Communications and Tata Consultancy Services. Ananth began his professional career as an entrepreneur and co-founded On-Line Solutions, one of the earliest Internet strategy-consulting firms based out of India.
Peter Downs leads the finance and supply chain teams as well as legal and corporate services.
Prior to NComputing, Downs was VP Finance at Siperian where he led the finance, legal, human resources and corporate services teams. He also served as VP Finance and Corporate Treasurer at BroadVision where he led finance and investor relations.
Downs holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, Peter is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Sai Allavarpu brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, product management, engineering, alliances and mergers and acquisitions, coupled with a passion for creating and transforming markets for the cloud, mobile and consumerization era. At NComputing, he leads product management, SaaS operations and software engineering organizations.
Prior to NComputing, Allavarpu ramped several incubation products to the top three market positions and managed $100M+ businesses. At Citrix, he led the product marketing organizations for security, network acceleration and cloud gateway solutions for desktop virtualization. Allavarpu also led product management and marketing at HP for security and identity management, and IT Service Management software solutions. Prior to HP, Mr. Allavarpu served in various leadership positions at iPlanet and Sun Microsystems in product management, marketing and engineering across enterprise and service provider segments in diverse technology areas such as security, identity management, network and systems management and enterprise portals.
Allavarpu served as chairman of the marketing and technology councils at the Liberty Alliance of 150+ enterprises and government organizations that developed federated identity and security standards for cloud services. Allavarpu has been awarded 17 technology patents and received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Osmania University, India, and a Master in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
Dave Burton has over 20 years of experience in software and technology marketing. He has a proven track record leading successful product marketing strategy and related campaigns. He previously served as vice president of U.S. marketing and marketing operations at AppSense, where he contributed to the company’s $100+ million growth. Burton also held senior positions at AlgoSec, Check Point and Symantec and brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to NComputing, where he will lead worldwide marketing, product marketing, communications, demand generation, channel marketing and field marketing.
