Half of the recipe for Internet café success is happy customers. The other half is controlling costs. NComputing helps you do both. Heat is one big enemy. Customers can't get comfortable when rows of PCs put out so much of it. Then there's the energy bills that go along with cooling the air and running those PCs. New PCs are costly, and keeping them running is an even bigger challenge. A computer that is waiting for maintenenace takes up space, produces no revenue, and means some unhappy customer will have to wait for one that works. With NComputing virtual desktops, that's all fixed.
Time to reboot
NComputing's economical award-winning virtual desktops can quadruple the number of stations you deploy for the same money. And NComputing solutions are so durable, that your maintenance costs are driven by a reduced number of shared PCs. So keeping customers cool and systems running is a breeze. Speaking of breezes, cooling costs are slashed because NComputing access devices generate a miniscule amount of heat compared to a PC. Your customers will thank you, and stay longer, too. No wonder more than 750,000 NComputing seats have been deployed by 15,000 organizations in 80 countries.
- Cut PC acquisition costs by 60%
- Reduce maintenance and complexity dramatically
- Lower electrical consumption by 90% and reduce heat generation
- Minimize risk of theft
- Increase security from viruses and malware
How does it work?
The NComputing solution is based on a simple fact: today’s PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications, especially email and Internet browsers, use only a small fraction of the computer’s capacity. NComputing’s virtualization software and hardware tap this unused capacity so that it can be simultaneously shared by multiple users, spreading out the cost of the PC, and typically providing four times the number of seats for the same money.
Something for everyone
NComputing offers two product lines. In both cases, each user has their own keyboard, screen, settings, applications, and data files—just as if they were working at an independent machine. The X-series is best for station clusters, where all of the users are located close to the shared PC. It also is the most economical solution. The L-series uses standard Ethernet networks, so the shared PC can be located as far away from the stations as you like—locked in closet or a back office.
Getting started
Internet café owners like you have established a predictable and repeatable formula for success that you can follow, too. Start with a pilot project test your software and to see just how well it works. After a few days, survey your customers. They are likely to say things like, "Where's the PC? It's really fast, but I don't see it anywhere." and "This is the first Internet café I've been to where all of the stations were working." At that point, you can recalculate your basic business economics. You'll probably want to get NComputing virtual desktops into all of your existing cafés as quickly as you can, and you'll probably also think about opening new locations, now that you have the most economical and reliable computing solution on earth.
