I have a problem connecting a USB camera and flash drive. Everytime I connect the camera or flash drive it locks up and reboots the server. I'm running WinXP SP2 on the server with the latest ncomputing updates. I can connect the camera right into the server without any problems and have also connected to other servers via the ncomupting box without any problems. Any help with this issue is greatly appreaciated.

As I understand, the latest Ncomputing update is intended for use on SP3. Updating might solve you problem. Other thoughts:
Does the camera have software installed on the server?
What size flash drive are you trying to connect? I have problem with ones over 512MB.
Have you flashed your Ncomputing BIOS? Password: UPDATEME

If the usb drive uses software ala U3 etc that will cause a lock up.  I also have noticed the the father away for the host pc the more problems you will encounter with usb devices.

Most errors occur between the ears

The software for the camera is installed on the server. I have flashed the BIOS and I'm not to concerned about the flash drive just the camera. Why would the server reboot everytime the camera is plugged into the ncomputing box?

The reason I asked about the camera software is because I have had other issues with printer and scanner software using these systems. If you un-install the camera's software and just have windows copy your photos to your server does that work?

As a by the way, USB flash drive is the only thing that Ncomputing officially supports for the USB drive on the units. Many of us have gotten other things to work. I had a HP USB printer working remotely over the internet, but if was quite sporadic. I did have to clean off all the extra software that HP puts on and just leave it running the driver only. msconfig

Yes the software is not on the computer and I have tried two different cameras.. The only thing I think I can do at this point in reinstall the OS.
