Sounds like there is some confusion here about firmware and driver software. The firmware is completely different from the NCT software. Firmware does not automatically update. NCT software is the driver software installed on a host PC. NCT software will automatically let you know when an update is available.
The terminal firmware is the software built into the actual Ncomputing device. It is what boots up to the Ncomputing client menu. Updating this can sometimes fix connectivity issues. The firmware must be updated manually through the setup options of the Ncomputing terminal. Firmware version does not need to match NCT software version. Firmware should be updated if you are experiencing issues connectivity issues. I hope this helps. |
