Do either the v91 or v94 updates have a firmware update for the L-series modules?  I didn't see anything listed in the readme files posted under this section of the forum, but I figured I'd check.  I'm fairly new to the nComputing world.

Well, when the L-series boot up, they automatically download the new firmware, but this one is not permanent.

To get it permanent, you have to run the update throw Setup menu on L-Series and then use the password : updateme

Are firmware updates ever put out separately from the standard software updates? Is there any way to know what the current firmware levels are for each machine type?

There are files in c:\program files\common files\NComputer\
All files with extension ".bot" are for L-series (image* for flashing and update* for boot from network)

To know your current version on your L-box, go to the info menu on your L-box

Many thanks for that hint. I'm curious though, why can I not change the boot server network address? Isn't that the machine that the device should be pulling BIOS from? Also, how can i change the boot server that device boots to? Or does that really matter?

I'm also not sure how to read the Info screen. It reads:

version 5.4
build 10198
date 04.07.06 (ce)
loaded schema version 00000071

The device in question in an L120.

What advantage is there to flashing the firmware if it just loads the latest firmware when it boots?

Not sure why it would make a difference flashing the firmware to the latest version as opposed to just loading it on boot up, but flashing the latest firmware into the unit corrected an issue I was having with a webpage crashing randomly.  So there might be a difference between the way it loads the firmware and the way that the firmware gets flashed.

Sounds like there is some confusion here about firmware and driver software.  The firmware is completely different from the NCT software.  Firmware does not automatically update.  NCT software is the driver software installed on a host PC.  NCT software will automatically let you know when an update is available.

The terminal firmware is the software built into the actual Ncomputing device.  It is what boots up to the Ncomputing client menu.   Updating this can sometimes fix connectivity issues.   The firmware must be updated manually through the setup options of the Ncomputing terminal.   Firmware version does not need to match NCT software version.  Firmware should be updated if you are experiencing issues connectivity issues.   I hope this helps.
