Subject: No sound after last nights Microsoft Windows Patch?

A preliminary post to see if anyone else is having this problem.  X-300 with XP SP3 and latest Ncomputing software.  In a domain (working).  Sound on workstations working yesterday.  Sound not working today.  Only change as far as I can see is the monthly Microsoft XP updates last night.

Anyone else observing this?

Any hint where to look for the solution?

Are you trying to say you are allowing the microsoft updates to come down and install automatically? Really a poor idea with these units. MS patches can often bring the entire system offline. You should turn off automatic updates and just get the notification. Then only install them when you have the time to ensure the system is working properly post install.

As for fixing your problem from last night, just look at the patches that installed last night and try to un-install them one at a time until your sound comes back on. Then post the KB# up here for everyone else, and make a submission to Ncomputing.
