I'm trying to install 2 X300 cards in an HP DC7800 running XP Pro SP3 and after installing all the drivers for both cards I restart the machine and just before Windows loads the login screen the computer blue screens and shows a Hardware malfunction and that I have a memory parity error. If I remove either card and boot the computer with just 1 X300 card Windows boots just fine. I'm going to try completely removing all the software and drivers and reinstalling again.

Well I tried removing and reinstalling the software every which way and none of that worked. I've tried changing around the IRQ settings in the BIOs and that didn't help. I tried installing a different graphics card because I thought the memory error was being triggered by the 6 xtenda graphics drivers using the system RAM for video RAM and that didn't work. I'm currently doing a complete reinstall of Windows and i'll try installing the software and drivers before updating to SP3. This is getting ridiculous.

Update: Well reinstalling Windows did nothing I still get a Hardware Malfunction anytime I try to install the driver for the X300 graphics adapter. I've also tried updating the BIOS to the most current revision and playing around with the IRQ's once again and that didn't work. I'm completly out of ideas.

I understand how you feel dsmith! because i am having the exact same problem! i am running windows xp on a lenovo 6075-cj5 and have uninstalled everything about a billion times and and tried installing everything in every way possible and had no luck! have done excatly what you have done with the IRQ's and also updated the bios and none of which helped me at all!

FIXED! there was a confilt with IRQ's and had to disable the usb ports. once they were disable all 7 computers came up fine. however another problem has occurred. the terminals will not login! they simply revert straight back to the login screen once some one logs in. although this is a already known issue.

I just tried disabling all the USB ports in the BIOS and it still crashed. I then disabled the serial port and it still crashes. I tried uninstalling all the USB hubs and ports from within Windows Device Manager and it still crashes.

I think I figured it out apparently whenever I tried to install the drivers for the graphics adaptor it would use the old version instead of the newer driver that came along with the updated software. Once I manually told it to use the newer driver it installed fine. Unfortunately I didn't discover this until after I reinstalled Windows. I just hope it works when I hook it up to the 7 terminals.

Hi Dsmith1337,
Did this fix your problem installing the new drivers. How did you get the newer drivers out of the new software. I thought the software was just that - the software for terminal services component and registration. I thought the drivers were only available from the cdrom that comes with the package. Can the new drivers for the cards be downloaded from the web.??

I did finally get all the problems worked out for now at least. My original problem with the memory parity error was solved by installing the newest version of the software & drivers (http://www.ncomputing.com/download/x300.zip) and not using the CD that came in the box at all.

The second problem I had with the winlogon terminated appearing every time I tried logging in was solved by installing the software when the computer was not connected to the domain and then joining the domain after the software was installed.

Also I did all of this on a SP2 install when I installed SP3 I ran into more problems so for the time being I'm leaving the computer at SP2 because it works. It took me about a week to get this thing running and I'm not about to mess with success.
