I've successfully installed 2 separate x300 devices on 2 Acer 410M desktops. The desktops are running XP Pro SP2 and I've installed the default software that came with the x300 systems.

Acer 410M setups:
- 2.2 Ghz AMD 64x2
- 2GB RAM
- ATI Radeon X1200

I've checked all six dumb terminals (3 on the first system and 3 on the second system) and each are showing randomly that an ATI device is not installed properly and that I should download the correct drivers or check my hardware. The error is referring to the ATI x1200 card that is installed in the host machine. Being that the ATI card is not utilized with the x300 virtual display card, how do I squelch this error?

It appears with as a standard windows box with an "ok" to click.. it will stay away for about 2 mins and then reappears.

make sure that you run the x300 software update and update the ati card driver. don't install the Catalyst suite just the driver. I have 20 m410s with x300 in them and none of them have this problem.

I am experiencing this same issue with an ati radeon 1300

I have tried new and old versions of the x300 software
updated ati drivers
and reinstalling all software and drivers several times

any ideas?

I know that I updated the ATI driver back in June, but cant remember updating the x300 software.  Maybe it automatically updates itself?  I haven't had students state that they have seen the issue any longer.   I'm not exactly why it stopped, I put the issue on the back burner and since then it hasn't shown itself again.

Sorry not much help.

What happens if you just disable the video card in the device manager?

What if you go into MSconfig and uncheck all of the ATI software that starts with the computer? I still suspect it is ATI software causing the conflict with the NComputing software.
