Hi,

I have got two L130 Terminals attached to Windows 2003 Server.  I have also got 2 Laptops having Win-XP  connected to server. Things are fine when only L130 Terminals are working, but the moment I use  Windows Remote Desktop Connection from XP  Laptops to connect to windows Server, the Server & Nodes becomes very very slow & the keyboard & mouse on server virtually hangs. 

Is there any solution to above. Can I connect to NCS virtual desktop from my XP Machine & avoid windows terminal services ?

The NCT software will only talk to the Ncontrol thin clients.  Does the slow down happen if they as soon as they make the connection thru RDS or are you using Terminal Server.  I have done RDS and had no slow downs to the thin clients.  If it happens after you open a program it may be the program that starts using the resouces.  Try opening task manger when they log in and see where the resouces are going.

Does your server have more than one nic?

The Server becomes slow when both RDS and NCT Clients are used simultaneously. If the NCT Clients are shut off and only RDS is used then its Okay or if only NCT clients are used and RDS is not used then also the speed is good. The applications running on the RDS or NCT terminals are normal Word, Excel, Internet browsers or Accounting applications which do not consume much processing power.

I think when two different terminal services are being use on server ie Windows Terminal Services & NCT there might be some clashing on server, due to which the CPU utilization of server goes up & it effects the speed.
