Hi folks,

I see a similiar thread, but I don't see an answer.  I'm using L200's and connecting to a Win XP SP2 machine which is the server - what I would like to be able to do is set the server to use the Welcome screen so that the list of user accounts is presented to the administrator, and so I don't have the server hanging at the enter user id and password box when the server is first booted up.

Can this be done?  I get a "windows cannot apply the welcome screen setting you selected" when I go to user accounts and try to do this the usual way.

I don't think it's possible, because NComputing software makes your Windows a multi-user host like a Remote Desktop with terminal service.
And in this mode, "Welcome screen" can't be used.

Yes.  I had the same problem and it appears to be nComputing related!!!

I figured out a fix, however.

Right click on the nComputing icon on the lower task bar.
Select "Disable NCX-2000-XP"
It will ask you to reboot.  Do that.  Then do NOT turn the NCX software back on after logging in.
Go to Start->Control Panel ->User Accounts
Click "Change the way users log on or off"
Select "Use Welcome Screen" (It will work correctly this time without the error.)
Right click on the nComputing icon on the lower task bar.
Select Reenable NCX-2000-XP
Reboot one more time.

Fixed.  Try not to break it again.

I dont think this will work, disabling the driver means you cant have your OfficeStation connect to the host anymore, what's the point then ??

Reenable the software after the sign-ons are fixed again.

The welcome screen may be disabled for many reasons.  Sometimes performance tools even do it to improve windows boot times.

For some reason while the NCX-2000-XP software is enable, and stations are attached, Windows is unable to reenable the welcome screen.  The theory is to turn the host PC back into a regular PC just long enough to reenable the Welcome screen.

Or, has the welcome screen never worked with your stations?
