hello all,

i have been working with the terminals for a few months now and so far the have recieved a good response but i have a question about them.

we have been installing the terminals (l230's) on networks and the users have been using network printers and all is weel. now a client wants us to give each L230 its own printer and i do not know wether this is applicable or if so, it will not have problems regularly

can any one point me in the right direction

what happens if i put each terminal on a different host and install the drivers on those hosts, would it work?

Well then you would have a computer for each person, which would make the Ncomputing software redundant. At that point why would you not just put each user on that host and skip the Ncomputing?

each of the host machines would have at least 8 users, so i was thinking of putting each of the 4 supervisors on a different host machine with the resst of the users not requiring printing services

Oh. Yes you can do that using TS2 or TS3 settings. If you will put a printer on a server near 4 people then you would have those 4 people log into that server using TS2 to attach to that machine. Likewise for the 8 other people on the other server.  It would appear seemless to the users.  Of course since you must be on an Windows 2K3 to have 12 users, you might also just purchase an IP printer to put near the appropriate users instead of having two computers for you to maintain.

Would it be possible to run a script when a terminal logs on, like in the TS2 dialog?  I have toyed with it, and it will run a program, like notepad, but won't continue to the desktop after that.  I want to map a printer to a terminal, which are all IP printers on a print server.
