I have a customer using an nComputing l130 thin client and he's unable to use this website www.nadaguides.com to look up information.  The error occurs when he clicks on links on this particular website, and then only on this website.  There is no problem using any computer to access this site, even the server he is logging into with the thin client.  To verify that the problem is with the nComputing device, I have logged into the other 11 devices and tried to access the website and I made it through various links of the website, however when I click on the final link that is of value to my customer internet explorer crashes.  There was one time and one time only when I was able to actually use the site to obtain the information my customer requested.

If IE crashes when you are using something other than the suspect L130, I'd look into IE first. After having resolved that problem, then I'd go on to troubleshoot the problematic L130.

When i go to www.nadaguides.com from the nComputing server(XP) IE does NOT crash. or on any other PC that we have available here, be it a desktop/laptop running XP IE does NOT crash.  The only time IE crashes is when browsing that site from any one of our L130's(XP terminals).  Now that it is isolated, any suggestions?

I just noticed... 11 devices on one XP machine? I think you are only supposed to have 10 L130's max. In fact, I'm not sure how you managed to get that many connected as XP has a connection limit of 10. Perhaps NComputing has figured out a way to circumvent this though.

With this in mind, have you tried this same procedure with only one L130 connected? Are all of the L130's logged on with the same account? When you navigate to the site while logged on to the NComputing server, are you using this same account or a different account?

We have three XP servers for the terminals, 7 clients on one, 3 on another, and I have a single terminal on the third server for testing purposes, or until the issue is resolved. The sever with seven and the (testing) server are identical machines, the server with 3 is less robust, but marginally so. I've tried accessing the site from all three servers(works fine) and from clients(doesn't work so well) connected to each server, all failing. When I log in to try to access the site I'm using a different log in, which hasn't seemed to make a difference. All the L130s are logged in with unique accounts, and each one of them has problems with this particular website. When I log in to the server and each client I'm using my unique account in both places. We are currently on a Win NT 4.0 domain, scheduled to be upgraded to Active Directory... not sure when that is going to take place as I keep hearing TBA when I ask.

Is there any more information I can supply that will help?

I've been reading other threads, and happened upon the password to update the firmware, and so I tried it on my testing setup. I've just visited the website, and had no problems since updating the firmware. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to look into this. I'm thinking all the clients out there will need to be updated, and I'm hoping that it corrects the issue for all our terminals.

Very good! I hope that did the trick as well.
