Mouse speed / sensitivity would or could be a nice option with the L-series (may be X-series too).

Because the option to select the mouse speed with Linux or Windows doesn't work.

Or even the accelerated option now offered in Windows XP and more or latest Linux X-server  would be a more sympatic option.
