Yes XP will let you run up to 10 users at once. I run many accounting programs. I think this is the perfect product to run for an accounting environment. Accounting software rarely drains CPU and RAM for more than 30 second spikes.

Not all software is friendly in a multi user environment. I would suggest that you do testing first. Internet Browsers and Office works fine. Hardware wise, Ram, dual core cpu's. Stay away from Vista at this time. Pre installed OS's iE by Dell, etc have other stuff installed that causes problems. A fresh Pre service pack 3 install along with the programs is your best bet. Most places you purchase the Ncomputer terminals give you a 30-45 return policy. Set up a computer, order 2 and test, test, test. Watch for loads on cpu, ram and nic traffic to see if it will work ok for the workload.
Also a make sure the network wiring is up to snuff.
Best of luck
John

Really the only thing you have to do on an XP machine is shut off the auto-update feature in windows. It is better to manually download the windows updates.

Other thing you have to watch is the virus software you put on. It should be a server package and consult the regular ncomputing website for a list of compatible virus programs.

Other than that, the only thing I don't use that you listed is Accurate accounting, but I have used Simply, Quickbooks, Caseware, AccPacc & Profile. If you need to run a DOS program, you need to run it inside a virtual environment or it drains the system.

Hi,
I am testing this product with a 2003 Server and the idea is to use it with web based application. For any reason when I add the site for a specific user it is not kept in the browser settings. I think it is something about security but I tried as much as I could with not success. Any idea what I need to do to fix this. Only users with Administrator rights don't have any problem.
Thanks
