Changes in this Release

This section documents changes and enhancements to NComputing’s current L-Series releases.

Product Type / Model: L-series support for Genuine L-Series products

Changes since previous release of 4.03.091 include:

  • Windows® XP SP3 support: NComputing has tested with the SP3 update, but NComputing advises that before you update to SP3 you should first test on a system to determine the impact to your environment since Microsoft has enforced new behavior changes with Remote Desktop Users settings.

    • The following NComputing notice may appear if you install over a host with SP3 installed, “Important notice: XP SP3, Microsoft has made user account policy changes”.

    • Microsoft has made user account “policy changes” which sets a default to only allow administrators to connect using terminal services that may result in the error Microsoft message: "The local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively". To overcome these changes the administrator needs to adjust user account settings to add them into "Remote Desktop Users" groups. NComputing has posted additional information on how to configure for remote user groups in our NComputing Knowledge Base at http://www.ncomputing.com/support.aspx. To locate this information in the knowledge base; search on the words "logon rights" or "remote desktop users."

  • It is advised that if you did not update to version 4.03.090 previously, that you apply the update to v090 (or v091) before updating to this version. See article at http://www.ncomputing.com/support.aspx and search on the term “4.03.091”.

  • Within the NCT console software settings sessions, a right click on the session may trigger the MMC error screen. Just ignore the error by selecting either of the "continue..." options. This error has no impact on functionality.

  • Note: This update may not be applicable to certain older L-series models; if so, the update process will advise you and will not complete the install.
