Stephen A. Dukker, Chairman and CEO

 

Mr. Dukker previously held senior management roles at several technology manufacturing and retail companies, including senior vice president of merchandising and direct operations for Computer City, president of OPTi, Inc., and president of PC manufacturing and distribution for CompUSA. He was also the founder and president of PC Brand, one of the first mail order PC manufacturers in the industry, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Alorica and Digital Persona.

 

Mr. Dukker has spent his entire career driving down the cost of computing. He brings more than 30 years of experience in computer manufacturing and retailing to NComputing. Prior to NComputing, he was the founder and CEO of eMachines, a company dedicated to making computers affordable. In its first year, eMachines achieved $817 million in revenues and quickly became the third largest manufacturer of personal computers in North America.

Young Song, Co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer


Mr. Song brings more than 17 years of management experience in running NComputing's day-to-day operations, including supply chain and manufacturing. Prior to NComputing, he was the founder and CEO of DoubleSight Displays, a company that delivered affordable and cost-effective dual displays to consumers.

 

Mr. Song also co-founded and was vice president of product marketing for eMachines, a pioneer in bringing affordable computing to consumers. He began his career as marketing director for both TriGem America Corporation and TriGem Computer, Inc. Mr. Song holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.

Klaus Maier, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer

 

Mr. Maier is the inventor of NComputing's virtualization technology and the architect of the NComputing solution. He bring his more than 17 years of network computing experience to setting NComputing's software technology direction. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of Hydrapark GmbH and KaMai-Computersysteme GmbH.

 

In 1998, Mr. Maier was named "The Most Innovative Entrepreneur" by a prominent German news magazine for his contributions to the PC industry. He holds a Special Economic Diploma/Matura from Weissenburg in Germany.

Raj Shah, Chief Marketing Officer

 

Mr. Shah leads the NComputing's worldwide marketing and strategic planning efforts. Prior to joining NComputing, he was the CMO of ClearCube Technology, the pioneer in PC blade computing systems and co-founder of SiteStuff, a leading e-procurement service for commercial property management firms.

 

 Mr. Shah was also a senior manager at McKinsey & Company, a leading management consulting firm. At McKinsey, he helped technology, consumer goods, retail and manufacturing clients improve their operations, marketing, and organizational effectiveness. He began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and at General Binding Corporation, and holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern) and a bachelor of science in Accountancy from Louisiana State University.

Katherine Butler, Chief Administrative Officer

 

Ms. Butler brings more than 20 years of experience to lead the finance, legal and human resources team at NComputing. Prior to NComputing, she served as general counsel and secretary for Software AG North America where she led the finance, legal, human resources and corporate services teams.

 

Ms. Butler also served as an attorney with General Electric in various locations including Paris, Milan, London, and Maryland. Early in her career, she was lead counsel for Software International Corporation in Andover, Massachusetts. She holds a master of laws (L.L.M.) from Boston University, a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Smith College.

Gabriele Sartori, SVP of Hardware Platform Development and Business Development

 

Mr. Sartori brings more than 25 years of technology and hardware development experience to NComputing. He leads the hardware platform development as well as business development efforts for NComputing. Prior to NComputing, Mr. Sartori held executive positions at Spansion, Luxtera, and Advanced Micro Devices. At AMD, he was the driving force behind HyperTransport, the revolutionary bus used by the Opteron CPUs.

 

Before coming to the U.S., Mr. Sartori ran the R&D for Desktop PC and Workstations at Olivetti, Italy. He has several computer architecture patents and holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Technical Institute of Biella, Italy.

Don Beck, SVP of Worldwide Sales

 

Mr. Beck leads NComputing’s global sales and field technical support teams. He brings nearly 30 years of sales experience with some of the world’s most successful PC and technology companies in the world, including IBM, J.D. Edwards, and Adobe. Prior to NComputing, Mr. Beck served as SVP of worldwide sales for Postini, the global leader in on-demand communications security (acquired by Google).

 

Prior to Postini, Mr. Beck was vice president of North American solution sales at Adobe Systems, and executive vice president of worldwide sales operations at Brio Software (acquired by Hyperion) and J.D. Edwards & Company. He also spent 20 years at IBM in various sales roles.

Bill Platt, SVP of Engineering & Support

 

Mr. Platt brings more than 20 years of development and customer support experience to NComputing. He leads NComputing's global engineering hardware and software development organization as well as the worldwide customer support team.Before joining NComputing, Mr. Platt was executive vice president of products at Wyse Technology, a leader in thin client computing.

 

Prior to joining Wyse, Mr. Platt was vice president of the operating platforms group at Sun Microsystems, where he ran large organizations including Americas Customer Care, Asia Pacific Customer Services, and was a vice president of software responsible for the Java Enterprise System and Solaris products.He was instrumental in helping the company build its field service and support organization as Sun experienced enormous growth during his 15 year tenure. Mr.Platt earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School.

H. DuBose Montgomery, Director 

 

Mr. Montgomery was a founder of Menlo Ventures in 1976, and has been an active director in many of the firm's portfolio companies over the past 30 years. At Menlo, he focuses on investments in leading companies in the information technology sector. His recent investments and board seats include: Akonix, Aquest, Branders.com, Entone, Firetide, freightquote.com, Golden Gateway Financial, Ncomputing, OnRequest Images, SellPoint and VBrick Systems. His prior investments include: Asyst Technologies (ASYT); EndoVascular Technologies, acquired by Guidant Corp. (GDT); Frame Technology Corporation, acquired by Adobe Systems (ADBE); Gilead Sciences (GILD); Infoseek Corporation, acquired by the Walt Disney Co. (DIS); LSI Logic Corporation (LSI); Micro Therapeutics (MTIX); Network Equipment Technologies (NWK); Valid Logic Systems, acquired by Cadence Design Systems (CDN) and VNUS Medical Technologies (VNUS).

Mr. Montgomery is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in Electrical Engineering, B.S. in Management Science) and the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration (M.B.A.). He previously served as a trustee of the Corporation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and on the M.I.T. visiting committees for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and for Sponsored Research.

Jim Jones, Director

 

Mr. Jones is on a mission not only to bring sharper venture capital focus to semiconductors and consumer electronics, but also to help his companies maximize market traction through next-generation technologies.

Since joining Scale Venture Partners (Scale VP) in 2000, he has helped recruit key marketing, finance, and board-level management as well as achieve Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for Monolithic Power Systems (Nasdaq: MPWR), prior to the company's successful IPO. For Entone and Xceive, he drove product roadmaps, made key customer introductions and led the search for VPs of Marketing and Sales. He actively supported Wayport in the exploration of business strategies that led to major partnerships and a profitable business model. In addition to Entone, Monolithic Power Systems and Xceive, he sits on the boards of Auvitek, Cornice, Enuclia and MaXXan.

 

Prior to Scale VP, Mr. Jones led product management, product marketing, and business development groups for seven years at 3Com Corporation, where he managed a diverse $1.2 billion product line. He also spearheaded the company's entry into and market leadership of Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet solutions as well as its foray into the home networking market. Prior to 3Com, he spent five years in integrated circuit development and marketing with National Semiconductor, focusing on analog, ATM, FDDI, and Ethernet controller and transceiver solutions, and holds a BSEE from the University of California, Davis.

Rob Herb, Director

 

Mr.Herb invests in markets in which he has always had a passion. At Scale VP, He is part of the firm's information technology team that identifies hardware investments including semiconductors and components, primarily for consumer electronics and enterprise systems. He sits on the board of directors of Ageia, Astute Networks, Enpirion and MIPS Technologies.

 

Mr. Herb joined Scale VP in 2005 following more than 20 years with AMD in a number of sales, marketing and general management positions. For the last four years of his tenure with AMD, he was executive vice president and chief marketing officer, working in the Office of the CEO. In that capacity he led the worldwide sales and marketing team and directed AMD's go-to-market strategy across all product lines. He has a BSEE degree from the University of Illinois.
